Other Origins and Blends

Modoc's Espresso
Named after the famous circus elephant. Just as Modoc made a big impression when she crashed through the front door of our store in 1942, our espresso has made a big impression too. We blend three different coffees to make this pungent blend which can be enjoyed alone or as part of one of those fun frothy drinks they make at Modoc's. This blend is a lighter roast than many espressos you will find, but it's a favorite around here.

Antigua Pacifica
This is a blend of Guatemala Antigua and dark roasted Brazil Santos. As we try different blends and roasts, once in a while we stumble onto something special. Blending a lighter and darker roast is a bit unconventional, but this blend is one that has caught on with our customers. We think that our fluid bed roasting which produces a "brighter" coffee also adds to this. The Guatemala's fruit is contrasted with the dark, mildy smoky Santos. They do not compete, but rather compliment one another. Quickly becoming a favorite with our retailers.

Breakfast Blend
This is a very popular blend which consists of a base of Brazil Santos blended with about 1/4 Colombian Supremo. Full bodied with the BIG Colombian characteristics toned down a bit. Good to drink anytime, but guaranteed to ease you into the day. Light American roast.

Colombian 50/50
When some of our customers began requesting a blend of regular and decaf Colombian, we were more than happy to oblige. Now you can drink twice as much! You'll notice the regular Colombian in this blend is a lighter color. The decaf portion is roasted to a slightly higher degree. We found this a very nice blend.

Mocha Java
A blend of Ethiopian Harrar and Sumatran coffees. The Mocha in Mocha Java doesn't have anything to do with flavor. Mocha is a seaport. So much for names. A very popular blend for us for a reason. What can we say? Maybe, just try it. You'll like it. Medium roast.

Plantation House Roast
We began blending coffees to suit the particular tastes of some of our early customers who were plantation owners in South Georgia. We quickly came upon a very refined blend of our Colombian Supremo and Mexican Cristal which resulted in a nice full-bodied cup with a toned down acidity. It quickly became a favorite and we called it our "Plantation" House Roast. This is a good coffee anytime. Light American Roast.
